We are 11 days and counting until the official start of summer, but the scorching temperatures are already here and if you ask our studio Moms the real countdown is when the kiddos come charging through the door from school.
In the spirit of graduation, Father’s Day, end of school, and celebration of a new season we wanted to shower you guys with some sursies. (This is southern speak for ‘little surprises’).
In this weeks’ blog post you will find a free workout demo, a delish recipe that won’t bog you down in the heat & our newest barre video!
Time to dust off the stability ball that you’ve been rolling around the house from room to room. It’s time to face the inflatable monster and make it earn its keep in your world rather than giving it the side eye every time you walk past it and guilt yourself into keeping it for another month. Let’s make the ball work for us! Use the stability ball to squeeze a workout in before you are squeezing into those summer tanks – we all know spanks in the summer is liken to saran wrap in a sanna so roll and sculpt with us in the video link below and let’s retire the spanks and rehire the stability ball for the love of all things glowing in this humidity.
Refreshing Beauty Watermelon Salad
Even when you are eating the healthy stuff it can sometimes cause bloating. Or have you noticed your skin drying out with the hot temps? Watermelon is mostly made of water (imagine that!) so it is a great option to shed off some unwanted pounds and keep the flat tummy in check. The healthy fats in the avocado & olive oil will keep your hair, skin & nails glowing like the sun. Last, but not least the apple cider vinegar is good for digestion and the basil essential oil has shown signs of helping skin tone & cellulite.
2 1/2 cups seedless watermelon
1 whole avocado cut into cubes
1/2 red onion sliced thin
1 whole cucumber cut into small chunks
Salt & Pepper
3 tbsp olive oil
3 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2-3 drops of Basil Essential Oil
2-3 drops of Peppermint Essential Oil
1. Whisk dressing ingredients together in a large bowl. Add the chopped fruit & vegetables and be sure to gently toss the salad so your watermelon doesn’t fall apart. Grab a cold beverage and enjoy by the pool 🙂
In other news, we are stoked to have uploaded Trish’s 60 minute Barre workout to our Virtual Studio! This chick is bananas… it’s worth the $15 subscription just to do her workout.
